Excellent food and service! This is a terrific, casual place to enjoy really good Mexican food. My wife and I have been to many restaurants in the Beaverton/Portland area and this is one of the best for casual dining. The food is tasty and plentiful. While some of the dinner entrees seem a bit expensive, this place is great!

Really good authentic Mexican food, our waiter was a little bit pushy tho and it took awhile for us to put our orders in and get our food

Food was wonderful. Service on the other hand. Terrible. They were rude to my entire family. We didn't get a fill up on our water once. The chips were stale. And 3 of our orders were wrong. Take the time to drive to the hall location. It's worth the drive.

I'm really not sure why Si Señor gets such a bad rap, as I've never had anything but excellent service and food in coming here. And any place that is packed on a Monday night must be doing something right. I've tried an assortment of entrées, including burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas, and they have all proven to be just as delicious as the last. I definitely recommend giving it a chance!

Ordered couple of items: Pollo Asado (Ensada): Good (only one occasion, this wasn't grilled well enough but on all occasions, it was really good) Their chips are served warm and good and they have multitude of salsa options. Beans & cheese: which comes with most dishes is really good. Chicken Fajita Quesadilla: Pretty good (has onions too). Chicken enchilada: Not so good. Chicken Taquitos: not so good, wished they put some cheese or sour cream inside it (as it was dry). The rice and beans that comes with most of their dishes was pretty good.

BEST RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD!! It has the best beans. And the bean and cheese burrito for kids is AMAZING! I'd give Si Senor a 100 star rating. Great service too.

We went there on a saturday night after shopping in the Tigard mall. I was slightly skeptical looking at the ratings but seeing some 4 and 5* ratings decided to go in anyway. One negative I noticed from the menu is that their dinner menu prices are high (12 to 17$) and for a chain that is expensive. The bean and salsa dip they brought to the table were good. I loved the bean dip. I went with the combo (entree and appetizer for $15). Appetizer - Tortilla soup - The soup was broth with few chicken pieces and a lot of soggy tortilla strips. I had some of the broth and couldn't finish it Entree - Pollo Asado - This was a good dish, the chicken was cooked right and the beans and rice were tasty. Entree - veggie quesadilla - The quesadilla was the surprise dish that tasted so good with the veggies and the cheese. I really enjoyed this dish more than anything. The portions are large and could easily be shared with between two. I think SI Senor is a mexican chain that is good for a quick lunch ($7.99) rather than visiting for a dinner.

So happy i stopped by this place last night. I had been missing some good Mexican food and was a little worried I wouldn't find a place. Well I was wrong. The taco that comes in the combo wasn't all that great but well seasoned I'm just not a fan of hard shell tacos. The tamale was the best I have had in a really long time I felt like I was back at my granny's house. The shredded beef in the chimichanga was seasoned really well too and it wasn't super big which was a plus. the rice was another item spot on and made me miss my granny. I also tried a Margarita it was pretty good. The restaurant is really family oriented so it can get load there was a huge birthday group behind us that would hangout right next to our table which was really weird and slightly annoying.

Si Senor is located at the intersection of Cornell and Saltzman Roads. Though the name is a little silly it does get your attention. Si Senor took over a rather non-descript restaurant building and turned it into an attractive Mexican cantina. The indoor seating is a little tight but it's comfortable. Si Senor offers some splendid outdoor seating on an outdoor patio. If you only have an hour lunch break and are looking for a quick restaurant then Si Senor is the place for you! As a matter of fact, if you work nearby and only have a half hour lunch then you might make it. This restaurant is incredibly fast and efficient. The service here is friendly, quick, and attentive. The menu is reminiscent of so many chain Mexican restaurants: appetizers, soups, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, "Mexican Favorites," and combinations. To its credit Si Senor does offer vegetarian and gluten free items. With the combinations diners are given the choice of Spanish rice or plain rice. Si Senor also offers a choice of refried beans or pinto beans. The proportions are large and the prices are fair. Two combination dinners, two beers, and we were a little over $30. On our visit we sampled the burrito combination and the chimichanga combination. Both entrees featured delicious and flavorful beef. The picadillo was outstanding. The salsa and Spanish rice were seasoned perfectly. Didn't have to douse our dinner in Cholula sauce like a restaurant up the street. The pinto beans came in a ceramic pot and were topped with cotija cheese. Magnifico! During the week Si Senor serves up lunch specials from 11 AM until 3 PM for $7.95. They offer the outstanding Pacifico beer on tap. Si Senor strives to be a neighborhood family Mexican restaurant and succeeds.

The sign says Dailey lunch specials. When I asked what they are, I was told "we don't do that any more." Chips are out of a bag. Bean dip is pee warm. Chimichanga is good, glad I didn't walk out. Waiter was friendly. First impressions were not the best

Wanted to give these guys some 'props. Ordered take out from these guys last night. Very good dinners, good price, my wife picked it up and she said they were very courteous (always have been for the handful of times we've been to this location and the other which is now Rauls). We had the 'staples'; barbeque pork and a chicken burrito. The barbeque pork was great, loved it.

We used to go here quite a bit but the service this time was fair to bad. Ordered steak and shrimp salad. The steak was ice cold, the shrimp was cold and not cooked. They took the shrimp back and warmed it but it wasn't anywhere near cooked still. For sure was enough to send me into the city for Mexican food next time. Not coming back to this place, no matter how close it is.

Si Senor, I had your carnita torta today for lunch and I am now missing the other half of the sandwich that I left at work. It's sitting in the mini fridge so far away. Alone and uneaten. Unappreciated for its yummy pork goodness and green sauce. The bread is so fluffy and soaks up all the juices without becoming spongy. I had this as carry out. I couldn't get away for lunch and my lovely coworkers were kind enough to bring back lunch. It's close to my work and they deliver as well. We haven't tried the delivery option yet. Perhaps one day. Did I mention that my carnita torta is sitting in the mini fridge at work ALL weekend? It is. All. Weekend. Sad. Face. And thank you for the bag of chips and salsa. I love chips and salsa.

Consistently great food and excellent service! I love their tortilla soup, the Carne Asada, and the enchiladas. Full of flavor and always fresh. Awesome margaritas, especially when made with top-shelf tequila, at your request.

Just has an amazing meal here, sat out on the back deck and it was nice the fajitas were amazing and good sized :)

Giant sad face: To go containers are Styrofoam. :-( big negative for me. We're technically in Portland, however... seems we are far enough out it doesn't matter to these guys. Otherwise: Delicious!!! The crab enchiladas are amazing. They taste like crab bisque, which we adore. The beans and rice were perfect and the margaritas are very top as well as being pretty and served in their own full size shakers. Big plus: our server did a great job taking care of my kiddo, too! Brought us some items not on the menu. I'll come back with my own container to take every precious drop home.

Had such a good time here. The server was very helpful and fun. The food was great. My girl said the drinks were good as well. They were quick also which is nice since I was on my lunch break and needed to be our within 45 mins.

It was alright. Not the worst but not the best that I have ever had. I ordered the chile rellanos without the sauce which came with sides of rice and beans. I also ordered a side of poco de gallo. It wasn't very fresh, even the colors were a bit off. I would probably return since it's conveniently located near by but I wouldn't make a destination out of it

Best mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Bean dip is awesome, and every item on the menu is delicious. I go almost every week and it never disappoints.

Wow, this is the best Mexican restaurant Ive ever been to. The chips are perfectly crispy, they even give you bean dip with them for free along with the salsa. The tamales and crispy tacos are delicious as well. Its also reasonably priced. I love stopping here when I work nearby!

If I was to rate this place on service alone that would be enough to make this little place stand on it's own. While I don't rave over the food much. I have tell you our waiter was so polite and went out of his way to be very helpful! DH and I went in here for lunch yesterday and he greeted us right away, made some suggestions and kept up with us often. He checked back and made jokes etc. He alone made the experience quite a worthy one. I have been going to Si Senor for years and this is once thing I can toot the horn about- is the service. The food.. eh, not so much although DH ate all of his- it was the grande plate I think? I guess he was hungry. I had the shrimp fajitas which was so so.. the guacamole was too processed looking like it had come from the store or a can, not home made. Yuck! I ate it anyways but it looked like green baby poop not gauc. Overall love coming for the service and it's fun when we're out this way.

The service here is great; I always try to get David's section, but everyone is friendly and fun. The food is good... I crave the steak and shrimp salad... which is huge and kind of spendy at $14; but delicious. I've been here with some friends of mine from Mexico who order items not on the menu and rave about them being as good as from "back home". They serve spicy salsa and spicy baked beans when you're seated, but happy to bring mild if that's your thing. And caution... the drinks are BIG and pack a punch. It's not fancy, but it is clean.

Si Senor is my suburban date night! The decor is like Cinco de Mayo circa 1982 but that matters not. My husband is addicted to their cheese enchiladas or really enchiladas in general but hey they're like Mexican Lasagna so who wouldn't love that. At Si Senor, the portions are massive as if my Sicilian grandmother had cooked them herself in her kitchen with her spoon and her apron. Entrees come on plates the size of car tires. I have recently discovered that if we go during happy hour, I can get ceviche tostadas which are the best deal going. It offsets the cost of my habanero margaritas. Cazadores reposado (a killer tequila) infused with habanero peppers with little bits of the pepper floating around. So good! The service is extremely friendly and accommodating. Sitting outside is lovely too, with its scenic view of NW Saltzman St. So if you're in the NW and you're hankering for Mexican lasagna, I'd say don't be such a snob, go to Si Senor. It ain't farm to table but it's all right by me.

Si Senor I feel like has gotten slightly better in the last year or so. New management perhaps? The restaurant is not very big granted I have never seen it overly crowded. Typical Americanized Mexican food but I have no problem with that. Their food is pretty tasty. Happy Hour deals from 3-6pm are quite alright. I enojy a $3 dos equis or two. You receive both beans and salsa with your chips. Chips came out nice and warm. Good deal. This last go-round I ordered a combo plate with a chili releno, chicken enchilada, and beef taco. Yes....I ate it all. Couldn't believe it. My order came out within minutes. Really, no wait at all it was awesome. Food overall is decent. The staff here is great. Very attentive and friendly.

  • Melissa L.

The margaritas are amazing. Made with fresh juices rather than a mix, they may not be as strong as some other local restaurants, but they are definitely a step above. The food is also well done. The dining room could use some updating, but just keep sipping the tasty margaritas and you won't notice. Like most ethnic restaurants in the area, everything on the menu is about a dollar more than it needs to be. What's up with that?

  • Andy L.

Better than texMex! Great food. Good service. Eat there once and the leftovers cover you for a second Mexican dinner. (Be bold and accept the styrofoam containers :)

I've been to Si Senor (this location only) over a dozen times and have always had good meals there. I usually get a fish and seafood platter and all the portions are HUGE (split it with my husband and we were both stuffed). The only food-related "complaint" I have is that they don't have "queso", as in the melted cheese Tex-Mex concoction, which I miss from my years in Texas, but I probably shouldn't be eating it, anyway. I had a margarita there last week and it was quite good. I've never managed to get to the restaurant during Happy Hour, which seems like they have some really good prices at that time. Prices not too bad during "regular" hours and you can often find coupons or go during other "specials" times, like Kids Eat Free on Sundays. The staff has always been SUPER friendly and the service quite good. It's also a child-friendly place, except they don't have a changing table in the women's restroom, which would be nice. I've recommended Si Senor to friends and would suggest you give it a try.

One of our favorite mexican place. Refried beans is so good I can just eat it with a spoon no need for chips. My picky eater kids like their burrito and enchilada especially the virgin margarita for kids! My husband likes their drinks as well. We tried several entree and they are all good. But our favorite is seafood chimichangga! Can't get enough of that. The service is always good and staff are always friendly!

  • Jake W.

Had a bad experience. Got put in a corner and ignored for a while, then the order was wrong, then I put my plate on the table next to me and waited for my check. Food was okay. 1 shot of Jose Quervo Gold was five bucks. One large Dos Equis was seven-fifty. I'd be happy to pay those prices if the service was great, but it wasn't. And it wasn't busy at all. Needless to say, I'm not going back.

  • Brad V.

The staff was courteous, but the margaritas were very weak! Was there any alcohol in there at all? I couldn't tell...we probably won't be back

I really like Si Senor! this place is just minutes from my house and gets a lot of my business. They are always prompt with chips, salsa, and hot bean dip when you arrive, which is nice. The menu is typical family style Mexican consisting of cheese heavy and saucy items. As is popular these days they also offer some more healthy items like salads and chicken sandwiches, but the Mexican food is the reason to come here. Happy hour is a good deal, I recommend the app sampler to try all of the tasty fried goodies. Their margaritas are good, but nothing to write home about. Come check this place out, good with the kids or the buddies, real casual like.

  • Ryan S.

TheThe margaritas were good. They have good specials. However, I had the chicken enchiladas, they were ok, but the chicken was as dry as the Sahara. Nice people. I would go back, but I would also avoid the chicken.

    (3)
  • Y B.

he combinations are reasonable, and the food is pretty good. I am a refried bean fanatic, and they were just ok, but passable. I had enchiladas, and the sauce actually had lots of flavors. Service was good, but sometimes you do sit around quite a while... I have learned to just get an order to go, ready in 10 min. (This sitting around in restaurants waiting a really long time for your meal, and a longer wait for the check, even if the restaurant is not busy...seems to be a Portland thing, happens at a lot of restaurants in Oregon.)

    (3)
  • Sam M.

Unfortunately I had to waste the energy to write a review about this horrible restaurant, but I felt it was my 'civic duty' to keep anyone from the bad experience. I can't explain how horrible the food was... You might as well dumpster dive out back, you will get the same quality of food. Their meat is overcooked, dry, and lacking overall flavor - I had dirt as a child that tasted better. Even their carbonated soft drinks are lacking flavor, mostly water and carbonation. Don't waste your money on this restaurant, find a Taco Bell - you will be much better off...

Love authentic Mexican food! I'm from Arizona and I know good mexi food!! Tonight we had the best service and the best mexi food since we have been in Oregon! The waiter was funny AND polite :)

By far, Si Senor is the BEST Mexican food we've found in the area. Their service is excellent and the food is consistently great. This is now the only place for Mexican we go to in town. Plus the bean dip and chips is awesome!

In search of a neighborhood go-to Mexican haunt, we stopped here for dinner tonight. First off, service was absoultely stellar. Very attentive to our needs and even a stray gaze from me as I was noshing on the chips and salsa was met with an eager waitress asking if everything was to my liking. The crowd was a nice mix of families and young margarita hunters. The food was superbly prepared, presented and very likable. In the Cornell-Cedar Hills area, I think this is my favorite Mexican place so far.

The service is good but the food is nothing special, especially for the prices. You expect a lot more for the money. It's unlikely that I'll go back to this place, especially when there are several really good restaurants nearby.

Not really impressed. Sort of ok. Ordered Quesadillas. Mediocre. Food for our other friends was warm not hot. Salsa had a strange taste. Chips were not that good.

Ok, so I live by this place. It is one of several locations around the Portland area. I've been there maybe 5 times and I always get take out food, never have sat down and eaten. This last time they had to go menus at the front counter, I grabbed one, perused it and ordered some vittles for my wife and kids. Including 2 kids meals. The meals were supposed to cost $3.50 according to the menu. They charged me 4.95, when I pointed this out they said... oh sorry those are the old to go menus. So I took the entire STACK out of the to go holder by the register and handed them to the girl and told her perhaps they shouldn't be out if they aren't going to list the RIGHT price. When I got my order home, my 11 dollar Chimi was small (i know I shouldn't complain about getting less fried food for health reasons, but darn it.. you spend 11 bucks, you figure you're going to have some for the next day or something). My kids orders were wrong (had ordered fries, some had it some didn't). The fries I did get were GROSS. Another time I ordered Nachos to go and they basically put all the cheese on the bottom, chips, then chicken so when the baked it was this congealed mass of cheese at the bottom... Won't be going back. There are other mexican places around to try. I'm sure these folks are capable of putting together an OK combo meal, but its too much work to get it...

When I had a retail job in the Cedar Mill/Cedar Hills area, and an hour-and-a-half commute via Tri-Met, Si Senor -- which was right next to my bus stop -- was a favorite place to fill up my belly before heading home. (The irritations that sometimes arise in the course of a public transite commute are surprisingly much more palatable when I'm full of food and tequila.) The sit-down, family-owned Tex-Mex restaurant is, strangely, a rare thing in this city, so I was pretty pleased to discover this place. I have the bad habit of going to restaurants, ordering a dish I end up really digging, and then ordering that dish again every visit from there on out. Si Senor was no exception. But the cheese and onion enchilada was really good! The beans and rice were really good! The giant margaritas were really good! And everything was reasonably priced, though at $6, the cocktails cost about as much as the entrees. The staff were always friendly and courteous, and always got the food to me very quickly.

5 stars for service, 3 stars for the food. I'd just come from a very poor experience at another mexican restaurant where after not being served we finally left. We were greeted the second we walked in the door, as we were sat promptly our server walked by and smiled at us and nodded to let us know he knew we were there. Once we were settled into our seats chips, salsa, bean dip, and water were dropped off. The salsa was really spicy and in our opinion pretty good. Within moments our server greeted us and got our drink order, he continued to be very friendly and helpful our entire visit. The food was good I got an enchilada with green sauce and a beef taco. I wasn't floored by the food but it was good. We'll definitely be back because the service was excellent and I'll be trying another dish to see if they do have something that makes my tastebuds dance a little more.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
